I’m a seventeen year old senior named Maxine Shirnel Andino. Although Maxine and Andino came from my dad, Shirnel is a mixed name after both grandmothers, Shirley and Nelly. I was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts. After I graduate from high school I want to attend Blaine then either have my own hair salon or work as a cosmetologist for television. But since I’ve been here all my life I also want my future to take place somewhere out of Massachusetts. I want to be a cosmetologist because that’s what I’ve been around all my life. My mother has been doing hair for a long time so she is who I look up to. It’s a great decision for me because as I’ve been told I’m already good at it. There are many things people don’t notice about me, one of which is I’m full Puerto Rican or I’m one of three sisters.
